TRIKALA KORINTHIAS
(22 km)
Trikala are consisted of three neighborhoods, the nether, the middle and the
upper. Notara family, an important family of the 1821 Greek Revolution was from
Trikala. If you happen to be in the area, don't miss visiting the historic monastery
of Saint Vlasios, which according to the tradition was built in 1400.
ANCIENT KORINTHOS - AKROKORINTHOS (42 km)
The Archaeological museum of the area is one of the most important in Greece
as it exhibits many Corinthian and Roman pieces of art. The temple of Apollo,
the ancient market and the ancient conservatoire impress every visitor. South
of ancient Korinthos is Akrokorinthos.
THE LAKE STYMFALIA (40 km)
Stymfalia is the only mountainous lake in Peloponese. It looks like a navel string
with strong connections to mythology and history. Today, the lake is protected
by the Natura 2000 program of the European Union, a program for the conservation
of the fauna and flora.
FENEOS - DOXA LAKE - MONASTERY OF SAINT GEORGE

Feneos has been characterized as the Corinthian Switzerland. The monastery of
Saint George the "fonias" was founded during the 14th century.
ISTHMOS (35 km)
The first canal in Korinthos was constructed by Periandros. The transmissions
back then were made through the ancient Diolkos. The tunneling was later continued
by Kapodistrias but it never completed. In 1893 the first ship passed through
the canal.
KALAVRYTA (70 km)
Kalavryta is one of the best daily excursions. The cog-wheel train connects Diakopto
with Kalavryta. Visit the Mega Spileo (Grand Cave) and the monastery of Saint
Lavra.
EPIDAVROS (110 km)
Don't miss visiting the ancient theater of Epidavros and attend one of the theatrical
plays.
LOUTRAKI - IREO ANCIENT TEMPLE OF APOLLO (80

The South sores of the Corinthian Gulf can be seen by Ireo. The temple of Apollo
is the most imposing part of Ireo.
